Happy Taborri Walker column day!

I managed to do it again… by setting writing my column as an actual appointment day and time, I’m managing to get it written! Go me!

Here on my facebook and Wix blog page, here’s the front cover of The Long Trip Home, done by my Fiverr Artist Deeker123~ yea, it’s not her real name, she hasn’t told me that yet, but still, I’m loving this cover designer. I had an idea on the cover, supplied the pictures and what I thought of, but I’m telling you, how she took my idea and ran with it, she made it soooo much better! I’m hoping I can keep this artist for a long time! I loved Marija, my very first artist, and she drew all the pictures of Earth Maid 1 – 9, and Weathering Storms. Earth Maid 1 is a full cover, and so is Weathering Storms. I’m trying to dream up a standard back cover page for all of Earth Maid, including number ten, which is being worked on. The back and spine for TLTH is being done this week, so here soon I’ll be able to publish it for both ebook and paperback. I’m so excited!

I’ve also done a huge amount of editing on the entire Earth Maid series. Especially, I’ve put in short blurbs of all the books I’ve got done at the end, hopefully I’m putting the links in correctly, to take you to Amazon to purchase the next book. (Gonna call and see if there’s support for Kindle Direct Publishing – KDP – to ensure it’s correct.) I’m republishing the books, and putting them in as a series, a fairly new feature Amazon KDP is offering. I needed a paragraph (or two or three) about the series in general, and I was coming up blank. I am writing a summary for each separate book itself, but I needed something general. I asked my great Aussie/US friend Nanci Taylor, and here’s what she got back to me!

“This 9-book series follows the story of a young woman, Landa, who finds out she is the thread that can save the world from evil. As Landa builds her recycling business and uses magick to fight evil, you get to see her growth from a young girl who trusts no one to being married with children and meeting people who become her extended family. You will also be introduced to beings who help Landa in her fight against evil. This is a captivating series that you will not want to put down.”

I am so in love! This is great! I’m thinking of adding a one or two sentence intro to each book after this, and leaving it at that. But I’m also putting out there, that if you’ve read any of the series (or the whole thing) that you’re invited to write me a paragraph as well, which will be included. Message me at Patti Lisenbee on Facebook, and send me your writing, and it will be added on! The more the merrier!

As to the Hooks part of Books & Hooks, I’m working on a couple projects for me. There is a woman with her own blog who is making graphs of swear words – Shit, Fuck, Hell and Damn – which I’ve done all but Damn yet. She also put out a switch side pillow saying “Love yourself” and “go fuck yourself” which I’m making now, but as hangings, not a pillow. I’ve also finished a graph that says “Give Peace a chance” with a heart and peace sign on it. When I move to a new apartment, hopefully by October this year, they’ll have a spot on my wall. It’ll be a cluster in the middle. I’m also making a round target, which will be mounted on a stiff piece of plastic, with six throwing daggers I own mounted on the target, all tips in the center ring. I’ll post pics when they all get put up. The last project for me is a temperature blanket. That’s where you record the temps of the day, every day, high or low, your choice, choose a color for each set of 10 degrees and crochet one row in that daily color. Only instead of one huge blanket, I’m making it in four sections, each one a solstice time. I’ve done Winter, Dec 21 to March 20, Spring, March 21 to June 20, I’m working on Summer, June 21 to September 20, and the last will be Sept 21 to December 20, the Fall solstice. Then the four pieces will be connected. It’s hard for me to believe that we’re all the way to August now as it is! By Dec. 20th, I’ll have been working on this blanket for a whole year, and I tell you, never again!

I’m also working on an order for a friend in Oregon, two hats and a pair of gloves. I’ve found a thread that will make the fingertips able to swipe and tap on a phone, which will be sewn into the thumb and whichever finger she tells me she uses. I’m also making an ensemble for the male gender; a hat, scarf and gloves made from the same color yarn. Yea, I’ve got a lot going, but it makes it easy to take a smaller project when I go to appointments. I get some nice uninterrupted crochet time, doing that. Pictures will appear as I get them done.

Oh, yea… I’ve opened a FB page called Books & Hooks! I’ve already posted the first chapter to Weathering Storms there and put out several pictures of what I’m crocheting on. I’m hoping to get it out there more, so people will want to read my writing. I hope this is the right link, please let me know if it is or not!

Annnndddd…. I got distracted. UPS, bathroom, make food, got hot water so drew up for dishes, the cat wants on my lap (and bit me!), even laminating two of a set of gorgeous suns seen through the smoke of a forest fire… how horribly ADHD interferes! I did manage to get back to this, and I’ll do my best not to stop until I’ve posted this. My mind jumps from point to point so fast and often. I have trouble focusing on anything. Yes, the TV is on, but it’s more a noise distraction from heavy traffic, sirens, people arguing, screams of kids (tho I love to hear that!) and the confounded small air traffic that drowns out everything several times a day. Distractibility is NOT good for writing! Oh, add stopping to crochet a row here and there to the above list, LOL. I can do that for say, half and hour, then the pain in my hands isn’t whimpering anymore, it’s full-out screaming to STOP! Take a break! As you can see, I’m more of a jumping bean here. It makes life kinda hard.

As to my health, I’m adjusting to the installed pain pump pretty well. Got to take the binder off finally, so I have to figure out how to sit without being directly on the pump, or how to pad the area. Still have some pain from the incised areas, but the pain in my spine is a lot better than it was. I’m truly happy to have been able to be in this medical trial to get off opioids! The rest of my joints, tho, well, they’re still bad (so is my spine; it’s the pain that’s less,) but their pain is getting worse as time marches by. I’ll still need the treatments for pain there, all the way to getting them replaced. Someday.

So, my friends, another month has passed. I’ve learned time seems to fly faster when you have a lot of routine. The mind blends the same routine into one memory pattern, rather than building new memories over doing things differently every day. A good explanation, that was.

I hope your days are good. I hope things either keep going well or that they get better, right now. Not later. Saying “get well soon” means you have to suffer with illness for a while, and I don’t want you to deal with anything unpleasant for any amount of time. So please, now. I wish you all a fond “till next time,” I’m on Facebook as Patti Lisenbee, another page as Taborri Walker, the author and have a Wix site as well, https://callmetaborri.wixsite.com/website, which this will go on as well. I hope to hear from all of you! You are the family I most desire! See you later!
