Tis the season for orders!

Happy Last Month of 2021!!

Taborri Walker here, and I can say with certainty that I never, ever dreamed that I’d live all the way to 2022!! Yes, I’ll spend a hair over half a year at my current age of 62, but still, with the life I have led, I really didn’t expect to be alive now! So glad I am though!

Books: oh, I’m still having some problem with organizing my mind to write, I’ll be discussing it with my new Psych nurse in a few days. I have ADHD, was diagnosed in college, but I had it as a kid too and when it rears its ugly head, my brain cannot stay on track! I do tend to multitask – writing with the TV on, stopping to crochet for a while, get MewMew on my lap for a while, get her food, water, etc., have a lot of Dr. appts, on and on and on!! But I did get this really neat idea on one of the novels I’m trying to finish up. See, our humans meet some outer-space aliens… and instead of actual types of names like we hoomans have, or other aliens, these know each other by mathematical symbols! They’ve studied our arithmetic and it meshes with theirs – except theirs is far more advanced – and they have math symbols on their foreheads to tell them apart, especially to others. I just had to figure out how to put that in a book, but I got it! When I finish OtherSpace, I’ll put it out for Beta readers! Then you can tell me if I did it.

Hooks: Tis the Season for people to buy, buy, buy for the last holidays of the year. I’ve been making Xmas themed hats and carrying them all around, and have gotten a few orders! Just got the prior orders done, need to mail off one and schedule pickup for the other, and today got orders for a candy cane hat and a Snowman face with a scarf attached hat! I like the idea of an attached scarf so much that I will purchase more of the type of yarn I need and make them as everyday winter combos as well. I’m also putting together a Product catalogue, that has pics, prices and some little written things and if someone wants to order but doesn’t know what, they can be sent a copy, go through it and pick out what they like. Of course, it will keep growing as I get more pieces made. I’m going to put in a “happy customer” page at the back of it so people can see real pics of people wearing what I made! I’m a busy girl lately, which is fine by me!

Now that Books & Hooks part is done, a bit on me… going back to Cardiologist, but it’s not bad, I think. Been having more PVC’s from my heart lately, and the new PA thinks it means my heart needs to be slowed down. The pacemaker was set at 90 BPM. They tried to lower it to 70 but it caused distress, so they put it to 80. Still had some trouble getting in a regular breath, so it’s now set at 85. I see a new regular doc this week, and near the end of Dec. I’ll see my surgeon to get a plan in motion on slowing down my heart rate. It would naturally be doing this as I age, but the PM won’t let it drop under what it’s programmed to. I’ve run with an extra-high heartrate since I was hit by lightning just before turning 15 years old, and has to be a bit high because the muscle memory remembers the fast rate. So we’ll need to go slow to lower it. I’m amazed at how tired I feel! I was told it would take a few days to adjust, and it is doing that. When you have an unusual problem, it makes for a lot of trips to the doc and odd body issues!

I got to go out with a friend today, to lunch, some shopping for the ingredients for Orange Jelly (NOT marmalade! ) and my friend will make it for me, keep some for herself and her grown son who likes it too. We had Mexican food – wonderful, YUM! – then went on some of her errands after the shopping. Gave us more time to chat. With the pandemic not slowing down, but the virus doing what viruses do, which is reproduce, infect, repeat – along with mutate – I believe we’ll never be truly free of it. I got my booster shot, so I’m better set against it. Still wear my mask, though, which is my right to do. If you don’t wear one and am not vaccinated, I feel for you.

My day out was good, MewMew was mad at me for being gone again, but after a long nap on my legs, I am forgiven. She’s now asleep by the window, all sprawled out on top of a stack of plastic bins on her little bed that she overflows. While I love having her around, if she passes before I do, I’m not planning on getting any other pet of any kind. Getting to be too much work, the litter box, the food, she does have a water fountain, but I have to keep putting water in it. Is ok, she’s drinking better. I do love her, I have pics and vids of her on my phone, but not having to keep cleaning it up will be nice to not have to do. I’m sure I’ll have her for a long time!

I’m thinking about adding in a recipe for all of you… what do you think? I could also get recipes from all of you, my readers, and pick one to put out. Would you like that? Let me know in PM or reply to this post. If I do it, I’ll have to go thru my own recipes and see what to share. Maybe the recipe for orange jelly? Or Penuche fudge? (that’s brown sugar fudge, for those who don’t know.) Would you also like crocheted item pics, like something I made that’s special in some way? Let me know, so I can keep improving this bit of a blog. I’m still trying to figure out the marketing aspect, so word of mouth is my best way right now. If you have suggestions, PLEASE let me know!

Now, I always say “Happy Holidays” at this time of year, starting halfway thru November to half way thru January because there are a whole LOT of religious holidays going on. Since we have 4,200 + religions in this world and thousands upon thousands of gods/goddesses, (most religions have a lot more than one in them,) and I can’t tell by looking at you which holiday(s) you celebrate, I will not name a specific one. My greeting encompasses ALL the holidays there are. This is NOT a war on religion of any kind, it’s being kind to everyone about their particular day. As I am an Atheist (with pagan leanings AND a certified member of the clergy,) I believe in being kind to everyone, no matter what. (although some people make it really hard to be nice!) After all, we’re ALL in this life together, so ACT LIKE IT!!

May all your holidays bring what you need and most of what you want!! Hug each other, love each other and keep your holiday spirit all year long!
